Hi I'm John, I live in Liverpool, a city that is full of public art. Whilst we have a number of high profile pieces, such as 'Another Place' at Crosby beach or 'Superlambanana', many of the lesser well know pieces go unnoticed. The aim of this blog is to highlight some of these works of art and hopefully get them some much deserved attention.

Cotton House Statue

(Viewed 893 times - 0 comments)
This statue is located outside Cotton House on Old hall Street in Liverpool, I think it's a little spooky. I don't know anything about this piece and I can't find anything about it online, other than it is possibly one of the statues that originally adorned the old Cotton Excahnge building.

Spooky Head

(Viewed 1239 times - 2 comments)
I'm Lucky enough to live in an old house, and one that has its own piece of Art. On the rear of the house above the top window craved into the stone is a head. I have no idea who this head represents and no idea who the artist is,any answers would be greatly appreciated. This is my favourite example of 'forgotten' art, probably beacause its so close to home yet is a complete mystery.

Day and Night

Here are two sculptures, located by the entrance to the offices of the Mersey tunnels. Our citys are often full of art, much of with goes unnoticed. These two sculptures are two examples of this unnoticed art. I hope to post more examples of forgotten art.
