Introduction

What is The Big Art Mob?

The Big Art Mob aims to create a public record of all the Public Art in the UK. For this reason, please try and keep your posts relevant to this subject, and avoid posting content that does not relate to Public Art. Posting content that is not strictly Public Art is not prohibited, but if you do, please do not fill in any of the location information to avoid such posts appearing in the Big Art Map.

The Big Question of course is: 'What is Public Art?' Whether you’re a sucker for sculpture or Banksy is your bag, that’s for you to answer. (There’s also a legal definition which is important to bear in mind when you’re deciding what to photograph.)

What is a moblog?

It's a mobile blog or weblog. A photoblog. A blog for people with camera phones.

You take photos or shoot video with your camera phone and then send them to the The Big Art Mob, direct from the phone, wherever you are. Your contributions are then published online in your very own Big Art Moblog to share with the rest of the Big Art Mob and the world at large - and to get their thoughts and feedback.

When you upload photos, you can add a title (as the MMS or email Subject) and accompanying text (as the MMS or email message) and these will appear on the site.

What is the Big Art Map?

This is in effect the Big Art Mob shown geographically on an interactive map of the UK - the opportunity to put the art you love literally on the map. It uses Google Maps technology.
