Recycled Livestock

A colourful flock of sheep, created as a permanent landmark at Tesco in Harlescott, which has been built on the old site of the Shrewsbury Livestock Market.
A Bristol-based art & design group's proposal was an overwhelming winner in a competition in which almost 1,000 shoppers voted in 2008.

Alberts big gilded thang

Commissioned by Queen Victoria in memory of her beloved husband, Prince Albert who died of typhoid in 1861.Unveiled in 1872, with the statue of Albert ceremonially "seated" in 1875. The memorial is 176 feet tall, took over ten years to complete, and cost £120,000.

The Bartholdi fountain

Place des Terreaux is the heart of Lyon's civic life. The fountain was sculpted in 1889 by Bartholdi (responsible for the Statue of Liberty in New York) It represents the rivers flowing into the ocean.
