Hi I'm John, I live in Liverpool, a city that is full of public art. Whilst we have a number of high profile pieces, such as 'Another Place' at Crosby beach or 'Superlambanana', many of the lesser well know pieces go unnoticed. The aim of this blog is to highlight some of these works of art and hopefully get them some much deserved attention.

I'm Lucky enough to live in an old house, and one that has its own piece of Art. On the rear of the house above the top window craved into the stone is a head. I have no idea who this head represents and no idea who the artist is,any answers would be greatly appreciated. This is my favourite example of 'forgotten' art, probably beacause its so close to home yet is a complete mystery.

Mob Rule says:

Is there any research you have done/can do locally about who built the house and when?

The house was built in 1835, it has the date on the outside. Other than that I Know very little about the house. I guess if I looked in the council records I could find out more.
